The Harlem Renaissance – The Art of Storytelling
February

Taking place at the Triangular Building on West166th Street, the event featured a series of live performances and workshops that sought to creatively educate the audience on the impact of the Harlem Renaissance. Our 4 Scholars, Veronica, Briana, Kimaya, and Melissa, took an active part in the presentations, and even attempted to learn a few songs from the era. Afterward, they took the opportunity to speak with some of the authors present.

At the end, the scholars were asked to help clean up, which they did without hesitation and in good spirits. Their willingness to help, despite initially being only spectators, was genuinely appreciated by the organizers and a great representation the "service to others" ethos BHGHNY seeks to instill in every scholar! Thank you for a job well done ladies!
