Another Million Dollar Evening

On Tuesday May 22nd, nearly 500 guests gathered to celebrate BHGHNY’s mission and the achievements of its scholars during its Annual Vision of Hope Awards Dinner at New York City’s Pierre Hotel. Emceed by NY Giants Great Phil Simms, the event raised close to a million dollars to support BHGHNY Scholars. Co-Chairs included BHGHNY Trustees Robert S. Mancini, John K. Mara, Donald F. Privett, Joseph A. Tarantino, Robert M. Grillo, and Patrick O. Haskell. During the evening, BHGHNY honored two of its scholars—Adrian Roque Silvas and Patria Añano— with the Mary Lanning Service Award and three individuals who have distinguished themselves as innovative thought-leaders, community activists and educators: Marc Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League, with the Vision of Hope Award, Barbara Chase, Retiring Head of School of Phillips Andover Academy, with the Distinguished Global Service Award, and David Diehl, NY Giants Pro Bowl Offensive Lineman, with the Wellington T. Mara Award. On behalf of the scholars under the organization’s care, BHGHNY would like to thank all its Directors, generous supporters, Dinner Honorees, the Mara family, and the NY Football Giants for their contribution to such a successful event.
